Meet Ankor Defense Founder, Keith Ankrom

Keith Ankrom was raised on a farm in southwest Missouri, where he spent his summers hauling hay and his off-seasons enjoying hunting and fishing. Grounded in a strong family tradition of military service, Keith was inspired by his grandfather, a World War II veteran, and his uncle, a Vietnam War veteran. Following their example, he enlisted in the U.S. Army immediately after high school and later continued his service in the Missouri Army National Guard.

During his military career, Keith served as a combat engineer and completed two deployments to Iraq. On his final deployment in 2004–2005, he proudly served as a platoon sergeant, leading soldiers in a demanding operational environment. These experiences helped shape his approach to leadership and reinforced the values of discipline, accountability, teamwork, and a commitment to excellence that continue to guide him today.

After completing his military service, Keith transitioned into the civilian sector, building a successful career in manufacturing and engineering. Over the years, he developed extensive experience in operations management, process improvement, and team leadership. Most recently, he served as a Plant Manager, overseeing production operations while driving efficiency, fostering continuous improvement, and upholding rigorous standards for quality and safety.

In addition to his professional background, Keith has maintained a lifelong passion for firearms and the industry surrounding them. Over the past two decades, he has become increasingly concerned about the growing volume of products manufactured outside the United States. Motivated by his belief in American craftsmanship and his desire to strengthen domestic manufacturing, Keith founded ANKOR Defense with a clear purpose: to deliver high-quality, American-made products built on a foundation of performance, reliability, and integrity.

Today, ANKOR Defense reflects Keith’s personal values, military experience, and professional expertise. Through his leadership, he is committed to supporting American manufacturing, prioritizing quality, and building a company customers can trust—one that honors the tradition of American craftsmanship while striving for excellence in everything it does.
